Tenure-track faculty position in Computer Science

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Drew University (https://www.drew.edu/math-computer-science-department) invites applications for an open rank tenure-track faculty position in Computer Science to begin in Fall 2022. Strong candidates in all areas of computer science are encouraged to apply, but preference will be given to candidates who can teach in the areas of cybersecurity and software engineering. Applicants are expected to have completed a PhD in computer science, computer engineering or a closely related field by September 1, 2022.


  • Teach both core and elective courses (3-3 load) at the undergraduate level;

  • Mentor student research;

  • Engage in the discipline as an active scholar;

  • Advise majors and minors;

  • Participate in department and college service;

Required Education and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in computer science or closely related discipline by September 1, 2022

  • Demonstrated excellence or potential in teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts context 


Arrange for three letters of reference to be sent to adefays@drew.edu. At least two references must specifically address your experience or potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching.

  • Evidence of teaching excellence or potential, such as course evaluations, if available, or a teaching statement;

About the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science and Drew University:

This is an exciting time of expansion in Mathematics and Computer Science. Within the past five years we have hired three faculty in statistics and data science, created minors in statistics and data science, created majors in statistics and cybersecurity, created a Master’s program in data analytics, and created a dual degree program with NYU Tandon in Cybersecurity.
