Coordinator of Orientation & Campus Experience

Drew University is seeking a Coordinator of Orientation & Campus Experience in the Department of College Admissions. This is a 12-month, entry-level position reporting to the Director of University Events.  The Coordinator of Orientation & Campus Experience will be responsible for coordinating undergraduate Admissions and New Student Orientation events to aid in the recruitment and yield of a new incoming class to Drew each year.  This role also provides oversight of the student tour guide program along with the Orientation Committee. The ability to plan and execute successful events and experience supervising students is required. A flexible, organized individual with keen attention to detail and the ability to creatively solve problems and build relationships with students, campus partners, and external vendors will be successful in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute all programming of the summer, fall and winter undergraduate New Student Orientation programs. Occasional weekend and evening work is required.

  • Manage, regularly assess, and update the campus tour program.

  • Recruit, train, manage, and assess a diverse and dynamic Orientation Committee and team of Student Tour Guides.

  • Assist with planning and execution of undergraduate Admissions events including open houses and admitted student events, and manage coordination of student leaders at events.

  • Regularly collaborate with and maintain strong relationships with on-campus and off-campus partners. Experience with vendor negotiation, contracting, and managing a budget is preferred. 

  • Coordinate marketing efforts for New Student Orientation, Admissions events, and campus tours. Strong understanding of social media and ability to think creatively is required. 

  • Build and maintain a campus mascot program that increases school spirit on campus.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of University Events or her designate.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors required

  •  1-3 years of professional experience or 2 years graduate experience.  Experience in higher education or event management is preferred.
